Effective date: 11 May 2026
1. Introduction and acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of services provided by Nordic Purr & Care, with registered business address at Thorvald Meyers gate 35, 0555 Oslo, Norway ("Nordic Purr & Care", "we", "us", or "our"). By booking, purchasing, or otherwise using any of our services, you ("Client", "you", or "your") confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services. These Terms apply to all services offered by Nordic Purr & Care, including cat sitting visits, in-home feeding and litter care, medication administration support, grooming and brushing sessions, cat transport assistance, and behavior and routine consultations.
Where a separate written agreement, booking confirmation, or service order is entered into between you and Nordic Purr & Care, such document shall supplement these Terms. In the event of conflict, the specific written agreement or booking confirmation shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
2. Scope of services
Nordic Purr & Care provides professional cat care services, including but not limited to:
- Cat sitting visits;
- In-home feeding and litter care;
- Medication administration support, subject to the limitations set out in these Terms and applicable law;
- Grooming and brushing sessions;
- Cat transport assistance; and
- Behavior and routine consultations.
Our services are intended for domestic cats and are provided in accordance with the information supplied by the Client. We do not provide veterinary diagnosis, veterinary treatment, emergency medical care, or any service requiring authorization reserved to licensed veterinarians or other regulated professionals.
Any advice provided during behavior or routine consultations is general in nature and does not replace veterinary, behavioral, or medical advice. The Client remains responsible for seeking appropriate professional assistance where needed.
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue services where, in our reasonable judgment, the cat’s condition, behavior, environment, or the Client’s instructions create an unreasonable risk to the cat, our personnel, third parties, or property.
3. User obligations and responsibilities
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all information provided to Nordic Purr & Care is complete, accurate, and kept up to date. This includes, without limitation:
- the cat’s name, age, breed, temperament, and medical history;
- feeding instructions, litter preferences, and routine requirements;
- known allergies, illnesses, injuries, behavioral issues, or special needs;
- emergency contact details and the contact details of the cat’s veterinarian;
- information about medication, dosage, timing, storage, and administration instructions;
- access instructions for the home, keys, alarms, and any security systems; and
- any circumstances that may affect the safe performance of the services.
The Client must ensure that the cat is fit to receive the requested services and that the environment is reasonably safe and sanitary. The Client must also ensure that all necessary supplies are available, unless otherwise agreed in writing, including food, litter, medications, cleaning materials, carriers, and any other items required for the service.
The Client acknowledges and agrees that:
- cats may react unpredictably, including by scratching, biting, escaping, hiding, or refusing handling;
- Nordic Purr & Care may need to adjust service delivery to protect the cat’s welfare or safety;
- the Client is responsible for securing the cat and the premises before and after services;
- the Client must notify us promptly of any illness, injury, aggression, contagious disease, or change in condition; and
- the Client is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining appropriate insurance for the cat and the premises, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
If the Client requests medication administration support, the Client must provide clear written instructions and ensure that the medication is lawfully prescribed or otherwise lawfully possessed by the Client. We may decline to administer medication where the instructions are unclear, the medication appears unsafe, or the task is outside our competence or legal authority.
The Client shall indemnify and hold Nordic Purr & Care harmless from claims, losses, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from inaccurate information, unsafe conditions, unlawful instructions, or the Client’s breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
4. Payment terms and conditions
Prices for our services are communicated in our booking materials, quotations, or other written communications. Unless otherwise stated, all prices are in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include any applicable taxes where required by law.
Payment is due in accordance with the invoice or booking confirmation issued by Nordic Purr & Care. We may require advance payment, partial prepayment, or a deposit before services commence. If payment is not received by the due date, we may suspend or cancel services until payment is made in full.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, additional charges may apply for:
- travel beyond the standard service area;
- emergency or short-notice bookings;
- extended service duration;
- special handling requirements;
- holiday or weekend service; and
- reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in connection with the service, if pre-approved by the Client or necessary to protect the cat’s welfare.
Any disputed invoice must be notified to us in writing without undue delay and in any event within a reasonable time after receipt. Undisputed amounts remain payable on time.
We reserve the right to charge interest and collection costs in accordance with applicable Norwegian law for overdue payments.
5. Cancellation and refund policy
The Client may cancel a booking by notifying Nordic Purr & Care using the contact details set out below. Cancellation terms may vary depending on the type of service, booking date, and any specific agreement made at the time of booking.
Unless a different cancellation policy is stated in the booking confirmation, the following applies:
- cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled service time may be eligible for a full refund, less any non-refundable processing fees where applicable;
- cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the scheduled service time may be eligible for a partial refund;
- cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service time may not be refundable; and
- no-shows, refusal of access, or inability to perform the service due to the Client’s failure to provide necessary information or access may be treated as late cancellation and may be fully chargeable.
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed using the original payment method or another reasonable method chosen by Nordic Purr & Care. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.
If we must cancel or materially change a booking due to our unavailability, safety concerns, force majeure, or other legitimate reasons, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the Client promptly and, where appropriate, offer a rescheduled service or refund for the affected portion of the service.
For services already commenced, refunds will generally be limited to the portion of the service not performed, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
6. Liability limitations
Nordic Purr & Care shall perform its services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable Norwegian law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under mandatory law.
Subject to the foregoing, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any service, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall be limited to the amount paid by the Client for the specific service giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
The Client acknowledges that animal care involves inherent risks, including illness, injury, escape, stress, allergic reactions, and unpredictable behavior. Nordic Purr & Care is not responsible for losses or harm arising from such inherent risks unless directly caused by our breach of these Terms or our negligence to the extent recognized by law.
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by inaccurate instructions, hidden defects, pre-existing medical conditions, inadequate supplies, unsafe premises, or acts or omissions of third parties, including veterinarians, transport providers, landlords, neighbors, or authorities.
7. Intellectual property rights
All content, materials, text, graphics, logos, service descriptions, templates, photographs, and other intellectual property provided by Nordic Purr & Care remain our property or the property of our licensors, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The Client is granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use our materials solely for the purpose of receiving and managing the services. The Client must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, or exploit our intellectual property without our prior written consent, except as permitted by mandatory law.
Any feedback, suggestions, or comments provided by the Client may be used by Nordic Purr & Care without restriction or compensation, unless otherwise agreed in writing and to the extent permitted by law.
8. Data protection and privacy
Nordic Purr & Care processes personal data in accordance with applicable Norwegian data protection law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as implemented in Norway.
We collect and process personal data necessary to provide our services, manage bookings, communicate with Clients, issue invoices, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations. This may include names, contact details, access instructions, payment information, pet-related information, and correspondence.
We process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases, as applicable: performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests, and consent where required.
We may share personal data with service providers acting on our behalf, such as payment processors, IT providers, or accounting services, where necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. The Client has rights under applicable law, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, subject to legal limitations.
For questions regarding privacy or to exercise data protection rights, please contact us using the details in Section 12.
9. Force majeure
Nordic Purr & Care shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, fire, flood, severe weather, epidemic or pandemic events, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, power outages, internet or telecommunications failures, governmental actions, or transport disruptions.
If a force majeure event occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to mitigate its effects and resume performance as soon as reasonably practicable. Where performance is prevented for a prolonged period, either party may terminate the affected service by written notice, subject to payment for services already performed and any non-cancellable costs reasonably incurred.
10. Changes to terms
Nordic Purr & Care may update or modify these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business operations. The updated Terms will take effect when published or on a later date specified by us.
Where required by law or where the changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of our services after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using our services and, where applicable, cancel any future bookings in accordance with Section 5.
11. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, including non-contractual disputes or claims, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway.
Subject to mandatory consumer protection rules and any rights you may have under applicable law, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Norway, with Oslo District Court as the agreed venue unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms shall limit any rights you may have under mandatory Norwegian consumer law.
